When I started this 30-day red light therapy challenge, I promised myself I’d keep it real — no exaggeration, no miracle talk, just honest updates as we go.
So here we are. Red Light Therapy: Day 13
And yes — the photos you’re seeing are my husband.
This challenge started as my idea, but it quickly turned into our thing, and honestly, watching his progress has been one of the most interesting parts of this whole experience.
30-Day Challenge Quick Recap: What We’re Doing
For anyone just catching up, here’s the setup:
I challenged my husband to a 30-day red light therapy mask challenge, and of course, I’m doing it too. No skipping. No excuses. Just consistency.
We’re using the FOLOKE red light therapy mask, and we’ve kept the routine intentionally simple:
About 20 minutes a night
Mask on
Couch or bed
Low lights
No multitasking
No overthinking it
If something is too complicated, it won’t last — and I wanted this to be realistic.
Why I’m Sharing His Photos
Let’s talk about the photos for a second.
The side-by-side images you’re seeing — Day 1 vs. Day 13 — are of my husband, not me. I want to be very clear about that.
Why share them?
Because sometimes it’s easier to see changes in someone else than in yourself. And honestly?
His progress surprised me.
Same lighting. Same guy. Same routine.
The only difference is 13 days of consistency.
What I’m Noticing by Day 13
I’m not here to sell you anything or promise magic.
Here’s what stands out so far:
1. His Skin Looks More Relaxed
The biggest difference I notice is how his face looks at rest.
Less tension
Smoother overall appearance
A more refreshed look, even without changing anything else
This isn’t overnight magic — it’s subtle, but it’s real.
2. Consistency Is the Key (Not Doing It Once or Twice)
This is the biggest takeaway so far.
Red light therapy isn’t something you do randomly and expect results. The reason we’re seeing changes — especially in his photos — is because we’ve been consistent.
Night after night. Same routine. Same commitment.
3. It’s Become a Habit, Not a Hassle
By Day 13, neither of us has to think about it anymore.
Mask on = day done.
It’s become part of our nightly wind-down instead of another thing on the to-do list. And honestly, that alone has value.
What Red Light Therapy Has Turned Into for Us
This challenge started as curiosity: Now it’s a routine.
For me, it’s about:
Slowing down at night
Creating a clear end to the day
Doing something small but intentional for myself
For him, it’s been:
A simple, no-effort habit
Something he actually sticks with
A noticeable difference when you compare photos over time
And neither of us had to overhaul our lives to make it work.
Managing Expectations (Still Important)
Let me say this clearly:
This is not medical treatment
This is not a miracle cure
This is not instant gratification
This is consistency, time, and letting small changes add up.
If you’re expecting dramatic results after a few uses, you’ll probably be disappointed. But if you commit and give it time? That’s where things start to shift.
Halfway Thoughts (Almost)
At Day 13:
We’re sticking with it
The habit feels locked in
The photos speak louder than hype
And consistency is clearly doing the heavy lifting
I’m glad we started this — and I’m really glad we committed to doing it every day instead of halfway.
